Cole valley tavern san francisco
What began as a cosmetic renovation of a beloved neighborhood establishment, the former Kezar Restaurant, soon became a full interior/exterior remodel of an historic Art Deco Era building in the heart of Cole Valley in San Francisco.
The new space gave way to what is now the Cole Valley Tavern, a thriving neighborhood hotspot and destination bar and eatery.
The most striking feature of the new Cole Valley Tavern is arguably the large and elegant back bar, which we fabricated from smaller sections of the original structure. The transformed back bar is complete with sophisticated lighting, new custom display shelving, and ample liquor storage.
In the process of repairing, maintaining, and improving many of the original features of the establishment, we also:
Constructed and installed large brass bar top
Installed bar paneling, new casings, baseboards, and all custom trim work
Created an oak-top window bar seating area
Refinished the original tile and concrete floors
Transformed storage closet into take-out area
Installed new picture windows at front and rear
Remodeled two bathrooms
Improved kitchen framing and lighting
Rebuilt mezzanine and installed new flooring
Replaced the historical glass block windows
Retiled front façade
Installed exterior heaters
Replaced the interior underground plumbing
Rescued and repaired termite-eaten structural post at the entry
Built exterior benches where you can sit and enjoy your soft-serve ice cream
And much more....
In short, we touched and transformed just about every surface in this fantastic neighborhood restaurant.
